Three Dimensional Paintings

“Peng Chau” and “Chungking,” together in this diptych, evoke Hong Kong’s simultaneous duality as naturally rugged and urbanistically constrained, through referencing the unique surface conditions of both sides.

Composed of two complementary paintings, “Bird Bath” is a self portrait in the intimate setting of the bathtub. Through trompe l’oeil tactics, the avian character initally beckons the viewer into the scene. Later the vantage shifts as you find yourself within the tub, in the familiar setting of experiencing your body navigating the waterline, with a third person perspective of self.
