The Ersha Grinding Wheel Factory played a critical role during the Industrial Revolution, producing vital products to further production in all fields. The site is now an expansive post industrial field, paradoxically much more pastoral than anything surrounding it.
OMA designed the Historical Renovation of three important, front facing buildings on the site. Containing programs including Coworking Space, Cafe, Exhibition Hall and Office, the historic buildings are contrasted with contemporary terrazzo insertions that reimagine the circulation and functionality of the buildings and give them an exciting new life.
